Install on macOS
For macOS 11 or newer, Apple silicon or Intel. Everything goes in your home folder. No sudo is needed.
1. Install
curl -LsSf https://exchange.samuel-drapeau.info/install.sh | sh
This installs uv if needed, Python 3.13, the SDK with the fastboxex command, and the terminal UI. Run it again to update.
Open a new terminal once it finishes.
2. Save your login
fastboxex setup
It asks for your login and password once and keeps them where only you can read them.
3. Check everything
fastboxex doctor
It should end with done. One reachable server is enough. If it fails, send your teacher the whole output: it contains no password.
4. Run the examples
git clone https://exchange.samuel-drapeau.info/examples.git
fastboxex run examples/01_hello.py
fastboxex run examples/02_market_board.py
No git? Download the zip and unpack it. See all the examples.
5. Join the class game
Your teacher gives you a code:
fastboxex run examples/06_class_game/play.py --code THE-CODE
The terminal UI is fastboxex tui. The documentation has the rest.
